About Steve Stoddart
Steve launched Wandering River in 2011. Prior to that, he developed all manner of skills in a 35 year career in Electronics and IT Systems engineering. In 2012, became a Chartered Engineer.
The decision to ‘go it alone’ was down to a simple event – impending redundancy! At last, here was an opportunity to pursue a long-held ambition.
Engineering and Imaging (both stills and video) may seem odd bed-fellows. They do, however, work very well together. Who hasn’t had occasion to shout at their laptop or PC? Also, some of Steve’s clients has projects where an engineering background made understanding the client’s needs a great deal easier…
To complement his engineering skills, Steve has a warm personality and easy-going manner. He is quick to understand his clients needs and genuinely interested in their product or service. When appropriate, he is free with suggestions on how to get the most from any stills or video shoot but never loses sight that the customer has the last word! His aim is to make his clients to feel at ease and confident that their needs will be met.
For the camera-shy, his easy-going personality helps to relax his clients to ensure the best results.
A Few Kind Words…
Leslie Olive is the founder and conductor of the Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestra. This is what he had to say about Steve:
“Thank you Steve, for your great work on the Launch Concert of the Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestra. Your own natural enthusiasm was infectious among the quite large team who made the event such a success. I was impressed with your ability to understand the complex and intricate issues involved.. in the sensitive environment of a cathedral and when working with outstanding musical professionals…
The editing work you have subsequently done for me has been first-class, and I am thrilled with the outcome. I hope very much you will be able to be involved with the vital task of developing the profile of the orchestra over the coming years.”
